- Contemporary Uses of Analogue Printing for Art and Grahic Design
(ART 339) : August 18-September 11, 4 credits
This course will introduce students to various printing methods including letterpress, silkscreen, mimeograph, photocopy, fax, ect. to be used in contemporary art and design making endeavors. Projects will range from large scale prints/paintings/posters to small scale ephemera, zines, books, record covers, installations, animations, music videos, ect. Students will determine their project objectives. The instructor will provide technical, conceptual and critical aid.
Hand-made Typography and Typeface Design
(ART 399) : June 23-July 17, 4 credits
This course will introduce students to various techniques and methods of creating hand-made/drawn typographic art and design work. Projects will range from large scale prints/posters to small scale ephemera, zines, books, record covers, installations, animations, music videos, type design. Students will primarily learn typeface anatomy and analogue methods to develop contemporary typeface designs.
